[Tip] How To Delete A Recent Searched Item History?

Now, we are sharing a small tip for Windows users that is about how to delete a recent searched item history. If you couldn't understand, see the following image:



In this image, we will delete the recent searched item 'student'. So, just follow these steps:
1. Open Windows Explorer

2. Click in the search box as shown above in the picture

3. Now hover over the item which you want to delete (In this example, we have selected 'student' to delete)

4. Now press the 'Delete' button on your keyboard.

5. That's it!

Microsoft has released the Internet Explorer 10 Release Preview (Pre-release aka Beta) for Windows 7. It seems that no major UI change has been done. But some good changes are done. Microsoft claims that it is two times faster as fast as Google Chrome 23 and 20-25 percent faster than Firefox 16.


System Requirements:
  • 32-bit or 64-bit edition of Windows 7 SP1 or 64-bit edition of Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1
  • Minumum 512 MB of RAM
  • Minimum 70 / 120 / 200 MB of hard drive space
  • At least 1 GHz processor
Internet Explorer 10 Release Preview comes with built-in spell checker, new scroll bars, option to open last browsing session, new web standards changes and some other changes. It's come with 'Do not track' feature enabled by default. It is faster in comparison to IE 9.
 In many tests of speed and HTML5, it fails to come in Top 5.

[Tip] Access More 'SendTo' Options

Today, we are going to share a small tip. We often use 'SendTo' command present in context menus (Right-click menus) to easily send a file to another place. There are limited options available. Do you know that you can extend the number of options by using a key? Want to know how? Here's how:

Press and hold  SHIFT Key (Don't leave it) and right click on any file/folder. Move to SendTo option and see the changes. Here's a picture to illustrate:

Taskbar Pinner: Pin Any File On Windows 8 Taskbar

Taskbar Pinner is a free tool to pin any file (e.g. any EXE, any Folder) on Windows 8 Taskbar. This useful tool has been created by my friend Happy Bulldozer with his friend Gaurav Kale. You can pin any file, folder, virtual folder (e.g. Personalization) and Library on Windows 8 Taskbar using this awesome tool.



Some of the features listed by the author are:

 You will able:
  • to pin ANY file regardless to its type;
  • to pin ANY folder;
  • to pin drive;
  • to pin Control Panel items, all them including some hidden like God Mode/All Tasks, Network Connections;

Delete undeletable files in XP

Sometimes when you try to delete a file in XP, you get an error message saying CAnnot delete Access denied. IN such case, follow the procedure:

* Locate the file you area about to delete

* Click on Start, Run, and type CMD and Press Enter to open a Command Prompt window

* Leave the Command Prompt window open, but proceed to close all other open programs

* Open the Task Manager window by pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL or by clicking on Start, Run and type TASKMGR.EXE and press Enter to start Task Manager

* Click on the Processes tab, click on the process named Explorer.exe and click on End Process.

* Minimize Task Manager but leave it open

* Go back to the Command Prompt window and change to the directory where the file is located. To do this, use the CD command.
Example: to change to the Windows\System32 directory you would enter the following command and Press Enter c:\cd \windows\system32

* Now use the DEL command to delete the offending file. Type DEL where is the file you wish to delete. Example: c:\del undeletableFile.exe

* Go back to Task Manager

* In Task Manager, click File, New Task and enter EXPLORER.EXE to restart the Windows shell.

* Close Task Manager

Or try this: (simple method)
* Open Notepad

* Click File then Save As…

* Locate the folder where your undeletable file is

* Choose ‘All files’ from the file type box

* Click once on the file you wanna delete so its name appears in the ‘filename’ box

* Put a ” at the start and end of the filename (the filename should have the extension of the undeletable file so it will overwrite it) Example: save as : "UndeletableFile.exe"where UNdeletableFile.exe is the file which cannot be deleted.

* Click save

* It should ask you to overwrite the existing file, choose yes and you can delete it as normal

Microsoft’s new OS Windows 8 in 2012

Microsoft has already started working on the next Windows version which is codenamed as "Windows 8" at the moment.


"Stephen Chapman" @ Microsoft Kitchen posted a Windows roadmap which clearly shows that Windows 8 is scheduled to release in 2012. Microsoft has also mentioned in past that it'll try to keep a fixed 3 years gap between future Windows releases and it seems that they are really working hard to maintain this gap.


As you can see in the above roadmap, Windows 8 is mentioned as "Major Release" and is scheduled for 2012. The most interesting thing to notice in this rodamap is that Windows 7 is mentioned as "Release Update".

Windows 8 vNext boot screen for Windows 7

In continuation to the previously posted article about customizing Windows 7 boot screen using Boot Updater, this Tuesday we have another awesome boot screen waiting for you. Read on.

This new boot screen is called vNext (codename for Windows 8) boot screen and resembles the boot screen in Windows build 7989.

STEPS:
1. Download the latest Boot Updater & the vNext boot screen and unzip both of them (download links below)
2. Run the .exe file
3. Click on File > Load Boot Skin.

Microsoft   began introducing its latest operating system Windows 7 successor.
